God isn't deaf

I'm almost 25 (next month) and I have no boyfriend. All my friends are either married or engaged or in serious relationships.

To top things off, I'm kinda a crazy person - or so the world tells me. I gave up a high paying job to pay heed to a call from the Living God Jesus to serve in an Ashram conducting weekly retreats. It's a year two months now.

My parents and EVERYBODY I meet asks me, "What are you going to do Now??". I been praying and praying but I just don't seem to have gotten any proper answer from God on how to proceed. There is sooo much of pressure on me to make a decision - any decision - right now, about the rest of my life, that it was really killing me.

So what do I do? Mope of course! What's better than throwing all your faith out of the door at the time you need it the most?

But the one true Living God does not ever give up on us. And He truly works in amazing ways.

Friday night, my (unsaved) girlfriend, who I've been trying to get to the Lord for years, called me up. After listening to me rave and rant about all my problems for over an hour, she finally shut me up.

"I hope you don't mind", she said "but everything you said just now is such *&^#%$".

Resisting the urge to correct her on her language as I usually do, I asked her what she meant. She said, "Hey, this isn't the Mello I know! What happened to all your faith in God? What happened to the 'I know that God will provide'? What Happened to you????" she almost yelled it out.

Sensing I wasn't going to make any quick comeback, she went on, "Don't pray to God and ask Him to answer all your questions in your time. Trust in Him and He'll answer everything beautifully in His time".

This from her.

After that from me.

I got up the next morning, the sun shining in my face, and I was happy. I was happy that I didn't have to worry. I was happy that God loved me despite my obvious failings. I was happy that God can and obviously will use anyone to get us back to the right way.

And in my happiness, I don't have to wait for God to answer me. He's already answered me; that the answer will come - when He's ready.
