Was it worth it all?
The movie 'The Passion of The Christ' is shaking the world into realizing what a terrible death Jesus endured for our sake. But 2000+ yrs down the line & the world is as gory as ever. Abortion, murder, sexual immorality & perversion of every kind. one can't help but wonder - was it really worth it?
If you Believe, it was worth it!
If you believe, you are saved, you gain Salvation - eternal life & His purpose is accomplished. Truly, all we have to do is "Repent & Believe". Repent on what? On all our sins. Believe in what? In Jesus Christ, the only True Living God, who shed His Blood that we may live.
This season of Lent, we are given a second chance, a chance to turn away from our sinful lives, a chance to start afresh. And with Jesus' grace we can & we will be able to turn away from our sins.
Last year, the Examiner ran an article of mine titled "What we should do this Lent". I talked about Lent being a time for self-introspection in order to have true and deep repentance, a time for strengthening against the evil one and a time for renewed communication with God.
I encourage you to read the article from the link above & also ponder on these additional points:
-
Where am I spiritually? Do my thoughts, words & actions glorify God? Or do they lead others to sin? Am I praying, reading the Holy Word, participating in Holy Mass with my heart?
-
Am I caught up in sin? Are there any sins in my life that I can't seem to break away from? Am I enjoying any sin? Am I really sorry for my sins?
-
What am I doing for God's kingdom? Am I truly where God wants me to be? Do I even know what God wants from me?
-
This Lent, what am I going to do that will ensure things change for the better even after Lent?
Jesus suffered and died on the cross for you & for me. Let us nail all our sins on His cross, to be crucified & buried with Him. And with the Power of the Lord Holy Spirit, we will be resurrected from the dead with our Lord Jesus Christ and be born again to eternal life!
May this Lent bring you closer to our Lord Jesus Christ!
Blessings on you & your family,
