Jesus is Alive. Need Proof?
I'm just back from a Special English Growth Retreat held at Tabor. The last Growth Retreat was held about a month ago.
It was during that retreat, on the 27th of August, to be precise, that a miracle took place during the Holy Mass.
It was a Holy Mass being concelebrated by one of the resident priests, Fr. Joby and by Fr. Anto, a priest who happened to be attending the retreat that week.
During the Epiclesis (part of the prayer of consecration), Fr. Joby noticed that there was suddenly many drops of water and blood falling on the altar cloth. He immediately announced to the congregation that Jesus was pouring out His Blood and Water and continued with the Holy Mass.
When it was time to drink the cup, Fr. Joby realised that the wine had changed to actual blood - it was thick, it seemed "sticky", it didn't "flow" as easily and it even smelt like blood. Fr Anto also experienced the exact same thing.
I met with and spoke to Fr. Joby and with others present during the miracle, all have amazing testimonies about the miracle. I was also blessed to actually see the drops of blood for myself (they haven't been wiped away but just covered with cup-like covers).
During my years at Tabor, I have seen and experienced many other miracles in the forms of spiritual, emotional and physical healings enough to be convinced to the core that Jesus not only exists and is alive, but also that He loves us and cares for us tremendously enough to heal us from the bondage we're in.
However I must say that seeing tangible proof of this miracle sent shivers up my spine nevertheless. Holy Mass has not been the same for me since and further to a talk during the Growth Retreat (by Br. Tony Menezes) outlining the importance of going to Daily Holy Mass.
I'm also re-reading Scott Hahn's 'The Lamb's Supper' - a book gifted to me by my friend Andy S. (thank you again!) and one that I highly recommend to all Christians who want to understand the Holy Mass and it's place in Scripture.
